It’s Mr. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, 66, know as “Lula”, the former president of Brazil. He suffers from the most common form of larynx cancer (translation from “doctor-language”: throat cancer) one considered moderately aggressive. However, his medical team said that he has "very good possibilities of recovery”. But it’s still sad.
When I first saw the picture of him bald I coudn't tell who it was. I knew I've seen him somewhere, but couldn't put my finger on it. It was only after reading the caption when I recognized him. It's sad to see him bald and beardless, but frankly, I really don't wanna know what they found in the beard when his wife shaved him!
When he was in the hospital the current Brazilian president, Dilma Rousseff, who underwent successful chemotherapy herself at the same hospital in 2009 before becoming a candidate, visited him and said he was in fighting spirits. What's up with Brazilian presidents and cancer? Who puts the "cancer-spell" on them?
Lula also only has 9 fingers, but that's another story for another day.

It's father’s day today.
Once a year you get to give your dad a present... just because he's you dad :) Isn't that amazing!
So we celebrated it. Fist we sang a little song to him in the morning, me and mom, gave him our first present (a belt, what else?) and then in the afternoon we had a special dinner, just the family, minus Maria :( who's on the other side of the Atlantic seas, but we got an message from her so let's say she was with us!
As you may have figured out already, mom and dad was here this weekend. Mom is on her way back, but dad's still in Stockholm till tomorrow :) Had an amazing weekend, but everything has an end.
I bought two things this weekend (among others) :) Earrings from SNÖ of Sweden and a thermos mug, the earring was kind of as a bonus. Didn't really need them, but oh my, they're pretty ^^ The thermos mug, on the other hand, was something I've been "looking for", meaning: "thinking about buying", and finally bought it ;)

Today’s successful accomplish is the fact that I cleaned the whole apartment! Be amazed! I know I am ;) I have to fix my manicure though... I kinda fucked it up by beeing active and industrious :/ Life is harder than it looks!

It simply just fell off
When I left Brazil, in 2009, I had 16 of these "bracelets" (not sure you can call it that cuz, well, you know) wrist. Now I have 4. Every time I lose one of the bracelets it feels like a little part of the Brazilian-me disappears. I told myself to save every single one of them after they’d fallen off, but... well, it didn't quite go as planned.
No worries, though! I promise to (try to) save this one. After all, it is the only red one I ever had :) The funny thing is that it's also the one I thought would fall off first of all. It sure proved me wrong ;) Life's full of surprises!
The only thing left to do is to wait for the 3 wishes to come true.
Lazy day
To have school in the afternoon makes the whole day lazy!! Alright, 1pm is better than 3pm, but still!! I gotta admit, it was kinda sweet to sleep in... again ^^
I bought a new phone, Nokia N9. I absolutely l-o-v-e it! So if you're thinking about buying a new phone, you know which one I would recommend ;) Whatever happened to September and October? I can't remember a thing I did during those two month... If feels like it was yesterday the first leaf fell down, and BOOM suddenly all the leafs are molding on the ground... until the man with the loud and huge blow dryer comes and blows all the leafs away...at 8 o'clock in the morning, just outside your window. That's when you realize it's already November :/
But that's not actually how it happened; I realized yet another year has passed when I had to buy a new calendar... :)
Ellen Pellen turned 21 yesterday! She sure is growing up fast! I still see her as a 14- max. 15-year old. And the toilet paper on the Halloween party at her place... No comments, you just gotta love her!

Rosehip soup with 2 ½ men
This Monday isn't that good :(
I caught the flue -.- Not fun! Last week I thought I wouldn't be one of the poor victims, but as it turns out, no one can hide from the legen... (whait for it) ...dary flue!
Right now I'm trying to cure it with rosehip soup and 2 ½ men... so far so good :) But gotta admit, it didn't feel too good 3h ago, when I was on my way to the Italian course... Thank God for aspirin ♥!
Football guy in Paris

I remember "back in the old days" when Saturday and Sunday meant playing with your friends till you couldn't breathe because you were either laughing too hard or just tired after running and... not being still, for 6 hours (or til mom or dad came to pick you up) Oh, those days!
I need to (aka want to) buy some clothes... but then I have to go downtown, and frankly, I don't feel like changing from my pajamas today. Life as I know it.
I'm going home on the 30th of this month! :) But I don't know if I'm staying for so long... Depends on my school. I really wanna see Beaver, and that means that either she has to come to Helsinki or I have to go to Tampere... Which suddenly makes it all so much more complicated!
I'm also gonna see Ellen, but she's easier, since she actually lives in Helsinki. I really really miss her, but it makes me calm to know that she's alright! :)
Of course, I wanna see everybody I know, but let's face it, that's not gonna happen. :/
I wanna meet Beaver most of all... She only has 4 mouth left in Finland, and after that I havev to go to Australia to see her :'( Only the thought of it makes me want to share a tear! :'(

The end of the beginning
The first two weeks here in Uppsala has been amazing! Loved it from the very beginning :)
This week is the end of the so called "nollning", meaning: the newbies-week, meaning: 2 weeks of fun :)

Had some visitors:
Mom, dad and Maria came here last Thursday. Mom stayed till Sunday, Dad till yesterday and Maria's gonna stay till next Sunday. Johanna and Gustav also came here last Sunday to see the apartment and to have lunch/brunch/dinner (or whatever you wanna call it)
It's been nice to have them here (even though I sometimes can't stand them... spec. Maria when she's being a softy ^^) haha
Anyways, after this week it's all studies...

There both good and bad things about having the first class at 10 am and the second (and last) at 3pm... I get up in the morning, get things done during normal hours (that's the good part) but at the same time, I'm not a morning-person, so I hate getting up before noon + if I have too much time I do stuff I should be doing instead for doing the things I really should be doing. Like now, for example... I'm writing on my blog O.o
